The Great Lakes Bay Pride Awards are awarded to people who have worked in the LGBT community doing great work. All LGBT and Allies are qualified for this award. Perceptions is proud to partner with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on the HIV/ TOBACCO Program. This program provides tobacco cessation courses, education, awareness, and presentations to the general public and the AIDS Service Organizations in the Great Lakes Bay Region and reaching to Traverse City and Marquette. Tobacco use is the #1 killer of the LGBT community and reduces the lives of all, but particularly those living with HIV.
Our Trans, Family, Friends, and Allies Group is open to all transgender, intersex and gender non-conforming people, our partners and allies residing in and around the Great Lakes Bay Region. We have 3 groups, Transgender Teens, Transgender Adults, and Allies. We offer education, open discussions, and socialization. This is our largest group with an average of 30 people attending.
